Cinderella (Diamond Edition)
BOX-ART
-_-_-_-_-
The first thing I'd like to note is that the version I have is in DVD packaging. The main difference between this and the standard Blu-Ray packaging is that there's slightly more visible artwork. Also, the edges of the box are not box blue, but light grey. bizarrely, the BD Logo is also absent from the top.
Featured on the cover are renders of Cinderella, the mice, and the fairy godmother, Behind them is the carriage with the castle in the distance. The films logo is on the side in a vertical orientation.
At the top of the back we have a list of extras, indicating what's on each disc, with the films description underneath. A render of Cinderella and the prince is off to the side. In the center are three images, depicting various features; second screen, bonus short, remaster video/audio. The bottom has the usual texts and logos that movie boxes have.
MENUS
-_-_-
Various clips from the film play in the background, while your options are in a regal blue overlay menus to the side. The clips from the film play within static a pillar-box of ivy laden pillars.
AUDIO
-_-_-
Both the original mono as well as a 7.1 surround remix are available in 24 bit DTS-HD MA. French & Spanish 5.1 Dolby dubs are also included. It's also interesting to note that all songs are localized in both of the dubs.
VIDEO
-_-_-
The video has a very "digital" look to it, despite being a decades old film. It looks almost like a digitally animated film from the 90's or early 00's! This is more than likely due to Disney's remastering technique. They are rather notorious for their restorations of these older films, always seeming to scrub clean any, and all, semblance of a filmic presentation. Like with Sleeping Beauty, they practically reanimate the whole film with an algorithmic color overlay system. No artifacts, or any grain what-so-ever, is visible. On the bright side with a high video bit-rate no compression is visible. Colors and contrast are good, they very much reflect the era, with loads of pastels.

The main mix here is a 24 Bit DTS-HD MA 7.1 mix. I didn't see any mention in the credits of how the audio was originally mixed, and IMDB didn't have nay info about the original release, but I would assume it was Dolby Stereo and this is a remix. It sounds good, no complaints.

EXTRAS
-_-_-_-
Most of the extras are behind the scenes type stuff, with sketches/concept art. Of all the extras on the Blu-Ray, only three of them are also on the DVD copy. Part of Her World: Jodi Benson's Voyage To The New Fantasy Land, and two alternate scenes.

Presented is a 24 Bit DTS-HD MA mix. There is also a stereo Dolby Digital mix, and two 5.1 dubs.

While not in it's theatrical 1.85:1 aspect ratio, the film is presented in the aspect ratio that it was animated in 1.66:1. Slightly pillar-boxed within the 16x9 frame, you get the exact same width that was seen in theaters, but with more height added to it. As with most Disney movies from this era it was animated digitally and the transfer is straight from the digital source, rather than from a film print.
